BJ Collard, RN, BSN, CPHQ, RAC-C BJ is president & founder of CTS, Inc, a Denver based nurse consultation & education firm. BJ is the nationally recognized expert on Restorative Nursing based on her work through a grant awarded to her from the Federal dministration on Aging to set up a model for delivery of Restorative Nursing care in nursing homes. Her Restorative Nursing manual & workshops have become the premier resource for how to set up facility programs that work.

WORKSHIP DESCRIPTION/WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:
This seminar will teach you how to organize and set up your Restorative Nursing Program to capture all of the restorative nursing care that is being provided. You will learn: how to identify restorative needs, implement programs, evaluate and document restorative care; requirements for CMS regulations and PPS/RUGS III; tips to streamline your program and deliver restorative care 24/7; what the surveyors are looking for to determine regulation compliance; MDS sections related to Restorative Nursing & how Restorative Nursing impacts Medicaid.

  • Discuss qualifying criteria for PPS RUGS 53 payment
  • Identify how to set up individual resident programs and a facility program
  • List the type of resident problems that would be appropriate for Restorative Dining
  • Examine the components of the urinary incontinence investigative protocol and application to
  • facility urinary incontinence management program
